Dear Kin members
I have a good news for everyone. There is a website in China called “www.kong.org.cn.” Recently they setup a special page for the North America Division (NAD). They welcome us, the overseas Confucius descendants, and would like to have some communications from us too. I understand it is acceptable to use English or Chinese (simplified or traditional words). Your can ask questions or express yourself. I learnt a lot from that website too.
There are a lot, a lot of information about our family as well as the related ones like the Yans, Tsangs and Mengs families too. However, almost all articles were published in Chinese. For those who have limited abilities in reading Chinese, I would like to suggest to ask parents/friends/relatives or even to copy the section that you have interested and email to me. I will try my best to translate it for you ASAP – however depends upon how busy I am at that moment. (Please use your name in Chinese to communicate with me. This is how I feel as a minimum to be considered as a descendant.) Would you like to take my challenge?
Please try this website. You can start as a “visitor” then as a “member” if you find that site is helpful. I am a member (membership is free of charge for everyone) . I posted some NAD information in there already. You may be luck enough to find you picture in there.
Enclosed is the Chinese version of this message.
Hin Cheung.
